Roatan has experienced growth in electrical demand as houses and businesses keep being built.  We at Roatan Electric Company are striving to meet the growing demand, but must ration electricity until the capacity matches demand.  Electrical demand is less at night, but peaks during the day as more and more air conditioners, lights, and other electrical equipment are being used.

RECO has enough electrical generation capacity to meet off-peak demand, but is not yet ready to meet the ever increasing peak demands.  Our rationing plan involves turning off electricity to various locations on a rotating basis.  We ask that you bear with us while we grow to meet your needs.
